Youth Set the Agenda in the Race to Zero
is a series of dialogues between young climate activists / entrepreneurs and institutional leaders in which young people set the stage with questions of sustainability, opportunity and challenges for future generations.
This year Youth Set the Agenda is a featured dialogue series as part of the 2020 November Dialogues in the Lead up to COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.
The series is led by the High Level Climate Champions team, Oxford Net Zero, and the Resilient 40.
We also run a sister programme called Youth on Boards for companies that want to formalize their commitment to youth engagement.
ABOUT
The YSA Dream Team
We are grateful to our friends at the Green Economy Coalition who first piloted the Youth Setting the Agenda event model in June 2019 and our partners at COP26 Climate Champions team, Resilience 40, and the Saïd Business School and Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford who are helping scale this project.
At the COP 21 United Nations climate change conference in Paris, governments agreed that mobilizing stronger and more ambitious climate action is urgently required to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. To connect the work of governments with the many voluntary and collaborative actions taken by cities, regions, businesses and investors, nations decided to appoint two high-level champions.
Oxford Net Zero
Oxford Net Zero is a global interdisciplinary research team at the University of Oxford working to identify and scale effective climate action. Oxford Net Zero is developing a digital hub which serves to inform and scale solutions for achieving global net zero with a tool aggregator to support businesses and policy makers in setting scientifically credible net zero strategies.
Resilient 40 (#R40) is an African youth climate network made up of almost 70 young leaders from 29 African countries. They are a unique diverse cross-sectoral group of passionate individuals committed to working with communities on climate, and making their voices heard across Africa and globally.
The Youth Setting the Agenda project is an initiative involving many hands and hearts. For more information please contact any or all of our team members.
